

With the swarm of images that scroll past our eyes every day, there is an apathy growing, towards images, their stillness, and poetics.
Attributes like possession of a tactile object, the interaction of the image with paper, layout, controlled chronology etcetera are on the verge of succumbing to the quickness afforded by scrolling through on digital platforms. While social media platforms have democratized the production and propagation of images to an unprecedented extent, these images and the formats of their presentation are designed for a brief engagement.
0 aims to build a community of aspiring photographers and other lens-based artists who are not published in already circulating popular publications. Through the website and a printed publication, the intent is to explore possibilities within the medium, offer space for dialogue and discourse, and encourage young practitioners and writers to present their thoughts and work.
Three issues were published between 2020 and 2022. The following are the written articles from each issue. The photographic portfolios of the other contributors featured in each issue are not reproduced here.



0 has been paused since 2022 — a combination of financial constraints and a disillusionment that arrived with AI. The questions that started 0 have not gone away. If anything they have become more pressing. But I am not ready to answer them yet with another issue.
