Residency- Jaipur Centre for Art
These works were produced during a residency at the Jaipur Centre for Art, City Palace, Jaipur, in April and May 2025, supported by the Anant Foundation for the Arts.
Site-responsive in their making — emerging from the architecture of the palace, conversations with the people who work within it, and the condition of a historic institution engaged in the perpetual maintenance of its own image.

Site Specific Installation
Installed briefly at City Palace Jaipur, a suspended cloth bore the line "Meet me elsewhere, my beloved" — drawn from Sahir Ludhianvi's poem Taj Mahal, in which he questions the romanticisation of the monument and foregrounds the invisible labor, class inequality, and imperial power embedded within its construction. Positioned within a former royal palace, the phrase unsettled inherited narratives of grandeur. Though approved initially, the installation was removed once its political implications surfaced. The video documenting fleeting public encounters with it before removal remains as the work's trace.
